Hey everyone, it's Laure live from Luz' with the recap of Smackdown from November 8, 2024 !

How to start a Smackdown episode in style? Well, with a segment featuring Roman Reigns and the Bloodline! The OTC made their entrance with Jimmy Uso, and as usual, it lasted for several minutes. Just as he was about to speak, Jey Uso's music hit. Reigns was already annoyed at having his speech cut off, but the situation didn't improve when Jey asked OTC to listen to what he had to say. But who is it about?
If you've been following Raw, of course, Sami Zayn shows up to join the Usos and Reigns in the ring for a big conversation. Zayn wants to address what happened at Crown Jewel: he didn’t mean to kick Reigns (of course!) and he originally came just for Jey. He thought he was on the ring tonight because Jey asked him to be, but in reality, that's not true. Zayn's here because it's been a while since he saw Reigns, and at Crown Jewel, when they were all together, it felt special — like the old days when they were family.
Sami continues, saying that he felt it, Jey and Jimmy felt it, and even Roman felt it! People say the opposite of love is hate, but no, it's indifference, and it's clear that Reigns doesn't feel indifferent towards Sami. On the contrary, he loves him (Roman’s face when Zayn says that is priceless, I swear!).
Sami keeps going: he’s ready to come back with them, the ball is in Roman’s court, and it’s up to him to have the final word. Either Roman refuses and Sami will leave, or he accepts, but only if Reigns apologizes.
“You want me to apologize to you?” Reigns repeats, clearly surprised by the request, acting like he’s never done anything wrong (did you black out during your Disney vacation or what?). Sami replies that he wants Roman to apologize to Jey.
OTC doesn't know what to do, takes his time to think, as usual, then walks up to Jey. He says, “I’m sorry.” Well, finally, he’s come to his senses! About time...
“I’m sorry I let you waste my time with him.” Reigns doesn’t have time for this, he needs to focus on Solo Sikoa, and Solo better get his ass to the ring! I guess expecting an apology from Reigns was too much to ask from this guy…
Sami leaves the ring, realizing he’s no longer welcome, and the big screen lights up showing Jacob Fatu in a prayer position, holding the Ula Fala. He makes it clear to Reigns that Sikoa is the Tribal Chief, and Roman is just one of “the others.” So, Roman doesn’t get to decide when Solo comes or not: by the end of the show, he’ll acknowledge him.
This Bloodline segment is over… or not quite, as we later find Roman Reigns backstage, running into Jey Uso: “Why are you dealing with that idiot Sami?” Reigns, hurry up and stop being ungrateful because if you don't, I might just hop on the next flight to your little self to explain to you, step by step, how dumb you are.
Anyway, Jey isn’t too happy about how Sami is being treated, and he tells Reigns that this was his only chance.
Enough talk, let’s move on to the opening match: Bayley (cutie!) vs. Candice LeRae. They start brawling a bit, but quickly, Candice pretends to injure her leg. She curls up in the corner, the referee tells Bayley to back off, Bayley turns her back to her opponent, and bam!

Candice attempts a Roll Up, but bro, it’s so sloppy on the floor that Bayley counters with a Roll Up of her own for the three count and snatches the win. Well played, girl! After all, we’re not the Role Model for nothing!
Backstage, Johnny Gargano is with the Motor City Machine Guns, congratulating them on their win. MCMG reciprocates, saying they can’t wait to face them again, and then they leave. Just then, Tommaso Ciampa shows up, and you can tell he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't know what happened, but he's pissed: "Why are you playing nice?", "You need to send a clear message," "Don’t let them think we won’t take back our titles," and Gargano’s struggling to follow his buddy’s vengeful energy.
Next, we cut backstage to a particularly angry Randy Orton, storming through the arena hallways without stopping, making his entrance and grabbing the mic in the ring. Kevin Owens responds, challenging him: “Come beat me up in front of everyone!” Owens is surrounded by officials near the entrance ramp, but we all know how effective officials are in wrestling, so Owens just brushes past them and joins Orton in the ring.
And now, it’s on — but it’s over quickly as Owens delivers a Piledriver, a particularly dangerous move that’s even banned in WWE for good reason! Because, yes, Randy Orton doesn’t get up from it and has to be taken out of the arena in an ambulance, accompanied by Cody Rhodes, who we won’t see for the rest of the night.
Does this stop the show? Of course not! DIY faces Pretty Deadly, and what was supposed to be a Tag-Team match quickly turns into a 1 vs. 2. Ciampa is so furious that he refuses to tag in and takes care of Pretty Deadly by himself in just a few minutes, winning decisively. Ciampa celebrates alone while Johnny Gargano looks confused and doesn’t get a chance to talk things through with his buddy.
We move backstage where Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae are having some sort of competition to see who can help Nia Jax the best. What? Don’t they have any more respectful women to help instead of her? Then the champion, Nia Jax, shows up and demands answers from Stratton about the upcoming match: "Did you ask Aldis for that Tag-Team match against Belair and Cargill?" Stratton replies that they need to become champions to dominate the women’s division. It’s part of her plan! LeRae can’t help but remind her that Stratton also had a plan for Crown Jewel, and that didn’t work out. Jax finishes the conversation with a typical threat: "It better work."
And now, the match between Jax/Stratton and the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, begins. It’s one of the first times I see Cargill struggle, but I guess with someone like Nia Jax, it’s understandable!
Despite the difficulty, the champions take control. Candice LeRae tries to interfere, but Naomi, who is facing the champion for the title next week, comes to balance things out by neutralizing LeRae. Belair then hits her KOD on Stratton, and Stratton can’t kick out, allowing the champions to win!
We quickly move on to the next match between A-Town Down Under and the tag team champions MCMG. There’s no real suspense here as MCMG wins easily, continuing to prove just how capable they are in the ring. After their victory, they find DIY backstage. The Street Profits join the celebration and declare that they will be the next challengers for the tag team titles.

Of course, our little Ciampa, who was already upset for... Why is he upset again? Do we know? Anyway, if he was already mad, this is just the straw that broke the camel's back, and the guy storms off, grumbling. I mean, come on, can’t it be someone else’s turn to be angry?
Next up, we get an announcement from Nick Aldis backstage, introducing the brand-new Women's US Championship belt! A new title to spice up the women's divisions on Raw and Smackdown. What do we think about that? Good idea? Who do you think should challenge for it? Personally, Lyra, if you're not one of the contenders, I’m setting WWE on fire!
And now, it’s time for the final act of this episode: the ceremony to recognize the Undisputed Tribal Chief! Now, don’t be fooled by the name because it’s not as crazy as it sounds. Basically, Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline come to the ring, followed by Roman Reigns, and the point is for Reigns to acknowledge Solo.
The OTC (Our Tribal Chief) makes it very clear that he does not recognize Solo as Tribal Chief and that he’s only come to challenge him to a match — a 1v1 match to crown the true, the one and only Tribal Chief. At this point, Solo cracks up (I love this moment, I love this guy) and replies that he doesn’t need to beat Roman because he’s already the undisputed Tribal Chief. Plus, it's not like Roman could become the Tribal Chief without a tribe. Instead, Solo offers to find four guys who are willing to fight with him for the war.
“You’re talking about WarGames? But you’re only four!” Reigns shoots back. Then, "Learn to count with Solo," as he lists off all the members of the Bloodline one by one, ending with: “And the fifth is my guy, Sami Zayn.”
At this point, Reigns doesn’t get it, the crowd doesn’t get it, I don’t get it... but then Sami Zayn appears at the entrance ramp. Wait, what? Not Sami! He wouldn’t do that, right? This can’t be happening!
The Bloodline then attacks Roman Reigns, so Jey and Jimmy come to help Roman, while Sami hesitates at the entrance ramp. Let me tell you, the Uso’s help doesn’t do much, and Reigns ends up at the mercy of Sikoa. Sami joins them in the ring, clearly aiming for Roman, who's being held by Sikoa. He goes for a Helluva Kick, but it’s Solo who takes the hit!
Both Sami and Reigns then take out Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa with Spear and Helluva Kick. As they face each other, the Uso’s return to the ring and raise their fingers in the air. Sami follows suit, still staring down Reigns. Reigns finally raises his finger too, signaling the return of the original Bloodline!
Am I annoyed that Reigns didn’t apologize to Jey? Maybe. But maybe it’s something that will come later !
