Hey everyone, it's Laure live from Luz' with the recap of Turning point from November 29, 2024 !

Here we are, it’s time for Turning Point, and what better way to kick things off than with that annoying Frankie Kazarian? Right? Get him out of the way so we don’t have to see him for the next three hours? So yes, the show opened with the match between Kazarian and Mike Santana.

It was a fun match with two solid wrestlers, but what made it so good? The fact that little Frankie got his face smashed in, much to my delight. Toward the end of the match, Santana hit his Spin the Block and pinned Kazarian for the three-count. Done and dusted—what a great start to the evening!

Next, we take a quick backstage detour where we find the members of The System. They all have matches tonight, so they’re in full “I’m gonna win and prove The System is the best” mode. Lots of talk, but we’ll see how they perform in the ring!

Speaking of which, up next is Brian Myers’ chance to prove his words in the Turkey Bowl Match, featuring Myers, Joe Hendry, Rhino, Hammerstone, John Skyler, and Eric Young. The fun twist here? The loser (the one who gets pinned) has to wear a turkey costume. Yes, it’s absolutely ridiculous!

Myers and Skyler, clearly oozing confidence (sarcasm), form a brief alliance at the start to gain the upper hand over the others. Of course, this doesn’t last long because, well, they’re still opponents! Toward the end, there’s a finisher relay—everyone gets hit with someone else’s finisher—until Myers tries to make a move but gets stopped in his tracks by Hendry, who takes him down with a Standing Ovation. Hendry covers Myers for the win, claiming victory in the Turkey Bowl!

Myers, furious at being pinned, rants, “I’m not wearing your stupid costume!” But buddy, you don’t get to decide! Hendry, Rhino, and Young drag him back into the ring as he tries to escape and forcibly dress him in the turkey costume. And there you have it! Good laughs all around as Myers fumes, Hendry celebrates, and the night stays entertaining!

We take another backstage detour where we find Rosemary, as unhinged as ever. She speaks cryptically (because she’s, well, nuts) and seems to have her sights set on Jordynne Grace and Masha Slamovich. Could she be aiming for the title?

Back to the ring, where Moose makes his first title defense as X-Division Champion against Laredo Kid. Moose is accompanied by Alisha Edwards, who can’t resist interfering during the match behind the referee’s back. Moose, you’re a wrecking machine—why do you need to cheat?

Despite these sneaky interventions, Laredo Kid manages to land some amazing moves, including a Spanish Fly off the top rope. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to put Moose away, as the champion proves too resilient. Kid tries other attacks but gets countered by Moose, who finishes him off with two devastating Spears, retaining the title. No surprises there, but the match was really cool!

Now we come to a match I was especially looking forward to (along with another one we’ll get to later): Steve Maclin vs. Josh Alexander in a No Disqualification Match. Bring on the violence!

And boy, did they deliver—chairs, tables, doors (why not?), trash cans—you name it, they used it! There was even a moment that cracked me up: Alexander puts a trash can over Maclin, and for some reason, he punches it. Then immediately regrets it, shaking his hand in pain—dude, what did you expect when you punch metal with your bare hand?

Toward the end, things get particularly intense. Both men push each other to the limit, trading near-falls, and you’re left wondering, “Okay, so who’s actually going to win?” Maclin eventually scatters shotgun shells on the mat, aiming to slam Alexander onto them.

Unfortunately for him, Alexander counters with a low blow and regains control. Alexander sets Maclin up on the top rope, preparing for a C4 Spike, but Maclin reverses it, throwing Alexander off the top rope, and both men crash onto the shells. Maclin crawls over to Alexander and covers him—that’s it! Maclin finally gets his revenge on Alexander! Hopefully, next week we’ll see a healthier, less traumatized Maclin.

Next up is the 6-Man Tag-Team Match, featuring the Hardy brothers and Ace Austin on one side, and The Rascalz and Kushida on the other. Or rather, "half" of The Rascalz, as Trey Miguel is absent, which Zachary Wentz announces. So, Wentz calls in a buddy—a "bro."

And who in wrestling do we associate with the term "bro"? That’s right, you’re not dreaming—Matt Riddle makes his entrance to team up with Wentz and Kushida. Once again, it’s a fun match featuring some talented individuals (and it’s great to see Riddle back!). The match ends predictably, with the Tag Team Champions and Austin claiming victory, as Jeff Hardy seals it with a Swanton Bomb and a three-count. The match concludes with a display of fair play as all participants shake hands—how wholesome!

Now, onto the second match I was eagerly awaiting: the 2-out-of-3 Falls Match for the TNA Women’s Championship between Masha Slamovich and Jordynne Grace. From the start, these two make it clear they’re fired up: Grace hits a Piledriver on the apron, and Slamovich retaliates with one at ringside. They’re going all out, let me tell you!

The first fall goes to Jordynne Grace, putting the pressure on the champion—now there’s no room for error! As for the second fall, Slamovich catches Grace with a Roll-Up, bringing us to the decisive third fall: who will come out on top?

As the third round begins, Rosemary appears on the entrance ramp, watching the match from afar. Thankfully, she doesn’t interfere (that would’ve been annoying). Slamovich finishes strong with a Powerbomb followed by a Package Piledriver, securing her victory over Grace. Masha retains her title, and I couldn’t be happier! Let’s go—her reign starts for real now!

Finally, it’s time for the main event: Nic Nemeth puts his championship on the line against Eddie Edwards from The System, who’s accompanied by his wife, Alisha Edwards. And we all know what’s about to happen…

Alisha interferes multiple times during the match, cutting Nemeth off or attacking him behind the referee’s back. Whenever she gets the chance, she cheats to help her husband. Of course, she eventually gets caught by the referee mid-match and is ejected from ringside. Not the brightest minds in The System, huh?

With Alisha gone, you’d think it’s now a straightforward one-on-one match where Edwards just loses because Nemeth is the better wrestler—but no! Despite the referee’s warnings, Alisha returns, hitting Nemeth with a belt behind the referee’s back. Edwards tries to capitalize, but the champion hangs on and kicks out (phew!). And now, the referee doesn’t even bother ejecting Alisha again—he just lets her stay. Sure, why not!

Both competitors eventually tumble over the top rope to ringside, leaving them sprawled on the floor. That’s when Brian Myers, still in his turkey costume, shows up and climbs into the ring. He slips on his big ring and gets ready to strike Nemeth as soon as he re-enters the ring. But who comes to Nemeth’s rescue again? John Layfield, just like last time, emerges from the crowd and takes down Myers before disappearing again.

This allows Nemeth and Edwards to finish their match properly. The champion delivers a Superkick followed by his Danger Zone finisher, covering Edwards for the three-count. Nemeth retains his title, and the show ends with his celebration.

But seriously, I need answers! What’s the deal with Layfield? Please, TNA, give us some answer!

It was Laure with the recap of Turning Point!
