Hey everyone, it’s Laure live from Luz’ with the recap of Collision on November 9, 2024 !

We jump straight into the action with a 3-Way Tag-Team match between the House of Black and the Iron Savages. As usual, the Iron Savages start off strong with their signature moves, giving them a boost of energy—but nope! They get absolutely destroyed by the House of Black, who waste no time settling the score, ending the match with their combined attack featuring a Cannonball and a Running Kick.

After the match, Malakai Black attempts to speak, but FTR interrupts. Black asks what they want, and FTR explains that they've had their chance to fight together before, but tonight they come in peace. However, they have a question for the House of Black: Harwood and Wheeler have spent their entire careers fighting for tag team titles, putting them above everything else. They want the House of Black to know that today, they stand in the way of their championship aspirations. So, they ask the burning question: *who will they fight?*

As a reminder, the House of Black and FTR will face off soon, and the winner will enter the 4-Way Tag-Team match at Full Gear for the tag team titles. So, with the House of Black having three members, who’s stepping up to the challenge?

Brody King steps forward, as does Malakai Black, who wishes good luck to his future opponents. Well, there you have it!

Backstage, we find Lio Rush feeling great after his recent matches, and it's nice to see some positivity! He reminds us that he still has MVP’s card and that he needs to make a decision about it. After securing two wins, he feels stronger than ever, and he’s aiming higher, which is why he’s challenging Swerve Strickland to a match on Dynamite. Going after the big fish, huh?

Back in the ring, Private Party is hanging out near the entrance tunnels in their little VIP spot, ready to watch the match between The Outrunners and Top Flight, knowing the winner will advance to Full Gear. FTR will also be watching their friends' performance from backstage.

So, what happened in this match? Well, trust me, you don’t need Action Andretti around to see communication problems in Top Flight! The guys came out with Leila Grey, which was fine at first. But at one point, a member of The Outrunners falls ringside near Grey, and he’s in her way. Darius Martin takes advantage of the situation and hits a Suicide Dive, coming just inches away from disaster. Dante Martin wasn’t too happy about this, so tensions rise a little.

Perhaps it’s this lack of communication and focus within Top Flight that led to their loss. In any case, The Outrunners qualify for the match at Full Gear and will get the chance to possibly become tag team champions!

On the interview side, we find The Acclaimed. They’re asked how they feel about their upcoming confrontation with the Facción Ingobernable. Of course, The Acclaimed are fired up and they say it loud and clear, so loudly, in fact, that it draws the attention of the Hurt Syndicate. MVP steps in, saying, “It’s been a while since you guys were champions! Honestly, this scissors stuff is just not cutting it.”

The Acclaimed stop him right there: “I don’t know who you think you’re talking to, but we’re not interested in your business.” Anthony Bowens takes the lead and walks off, with Max Caster following, but he’s stopped by MVP, who reminds him that he still holds his card.

And now, it’s time for the cream of the crop—Roderick Strong in action, and not just against anyone! He’s facing The Beast Mortos, whom he’s recently tried to recruit into his group. Still in the ring, Strong attempts to negotiate with Mortos, but Mortos responds by delivering a brutal clothesline, officially kicking off their confrontation.

Mortos was on a strong streak lately and gave Strong a tough time (I mean, just look at the beast!). However, the Undisputed Kingdom member was fired up and ended the match with a Jumping Knee to Mortos' jaw. Strong is now 2-1, just like Adam Cole, so we’re on track for that Triple Threat match!

But as Strong celebrates his victory, Lance Archer sneaks up behind him and hits him with a Black Out. Brian Cage also shows up, but it felt a bit like filler—I'm not sure if he missed his cue or what?

Next, we get a video from Mariah May, who is all about herself and throwing shade at everyone in the process. She says she doesn’t like the women’s division and is tired of all the "girl power" nonsense. Since becoming champion, she’s realized how pathetic the women around her are—they're either beaten, injured, or scared. It’s not the women’s division—it's HER division, and no one can touch her.

Instantly, Anna Jay responds while being interviewed: "You say no one can touch you, but I’ve already laid my hands on you—and I beat you!" Anna Jay points out that they’re even and proposes a third round: a No DQ match for the title. If she fails, she won’t be able to challenge May for the title again. Honestly, I’m looking forward to this one!

We move on to a quick match between Kris Statlander and Ashley Vox. It’s a lightning-fast encounter, with Statlander dismantling Vox in less than two minutes with her Saturday Night Fever. Even though she’s strong enough to finish the match in no time, she’s not quick enough to avoid Mercedes Moné, who’s still bitter about not taking Statlander down last Wednesday! Moné locks her in the Statement Maker for a long time until officials step in to break them up. If you think that’s going to be enough at Full Gear, you’re sadly mistaken!

Backstage, we see the Facción Ingobernable, with Rush giving Mortos a bit of a lecture after his loss: "What did you do, bro?" Rush tells him they’re a family, and next week, Mortos will need to prove himself. Jake Roberts follows up with a message for The Acclaimed: they’d better be ready because they’re determined to crush them.

We then move to an open challenge for the TNT title with Jack Perry, and Action Andretti steps up to face him. But Perry’s not here for a stroll in the park—he’s serious and will play the heel to the fullest. He snubs a fan trying to give him a fist bump, messes with another, and ruthlessly slams Andretti on the outside steps.

As expected, Jack Perry retains his title, finishing the match with a Running Knee and a three-count victory. Perry grabs a mic to speak afterward, but Daniel Garcia (let’s go!) joins him for a chat. Perry hands him the mic, and Garcia immediately lays down the terms: “You think you’re special with your long hair and your dark school bus?” Garcia explains that unlike Perry, he fights for the people in the locker room and the fans, and it’s those people who make him strong. He’ll never be like Perry, and then he drops the bomb: "Do you know what I’ll be?"

Perry doesn't respond (after all, he doesn't have a mic!) but Garcia locks eyes with him and boldly declares that he will be the new TNT Champion at Full Gear. The challenge is officially on, and Perry quickly fires back: "You can have your match if you want it, but you're not ready."

Next, we get a cool video hyping the return of Julia Hart. I liked the vibe, so I’m definitely excited to see her back! Then we move backstage, where Daniel Garcia and his buddy Matt Menard are being interviewed. Menard brushes off the interviewer and boosts Garcia’s confidence: "Listen, don't listen to what Perry says. The whole world knows you're ready to be champion!" I really hope he’s right because I’m all in for Garcia’s rise!

Before his match against AR Fox, Nick Wayne can’t resist taking a cheap shot at his opponent by bringing up Fox's late father (and that’s just low). As Wayne heads to the ring, Fox immediately attacks him, disregarding the fact that the match hasn’t officially started.

Of course, Wayne doesn’t come alone: his mom and Kip Sabian are at ringside, and they make sure to cause a distraction to help Wayne win. Wayne hits Fox with a Code Red, then covers him for the three-count.

But Wayne isn’t done yet. He grabs a photo of AR Fox’s late father and a stapler. You can guess where this is going. Wayne gleefully staples the photo to Fox’s forehead, and trust me, I know that hurts (I’ve stapled my finger before, and it’s no joke)!

Before we move to the main event, we catch MXM Collection backstage in an interview. They reveal they sent a DM to Johnny TV proposing a trio match. Johnny responded that he already has a match with Daniel Garcia lined up but invited MXM to come to ringside, which they’re clearly excited about.

Now, it’s time for the main event: the Death Riders' trio titles are on the line against the Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Kyle O'Reilly, and Tomohiro Ishii). AEW keeps me guessing, and even though I was convinced the Conglomeration might win, the Death Riders have a strong presence. Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir show up at ringside, with Orange Cassidy joining the fray as well. This sets up a standoff between Moxley and Cassidy on opposite sides of the ring.

Then things get chaotic: O'Reilly locks in a submission on Yuta, and it all falls apart. In the confusion, Castagnoli brings in a chair to distract the referee, allowing Shafir to hit O'Reilly with a briefcase. O'Reilly takes a Running Knee and doesn’t get up for the pin. No new trio champions tonight!

As the Death Riders celebrate at ringside, Orange Cassidy goes after Moxley, sparking a brawl between the two factions. Shafir and Moxley retreat into the crowd as Cassidy jumps on the three lackeys of the AEW Champion. Looks like Moxley won’t be getting the upper hand tonight.

So, is the tide beginning to turn in AEW? Could it be that Cassidy and his crew are on the rise? It’s certainly looking that way!

It was Laure with the recap of Collision!
