Hey everyone, it’s Laure live from Luz’ with the recap of NXT on November 19, 2024 !

Remember, last week we left off with absolute chaos in the tag team division. To kick off this episode, we find the tag team champions backstage walking toward the ring. Nathan Frazer, the daredevil of the duo, doesn’t seem particularly worried about the tense atmosphere, feeling that all the other teams will just tear each other apart. Along the way, the champs run into Gallus, and here Axiom admits he’s feeling a bit nervous.
And who could blame him, given the situation? Frazer and Axiom head to the ring—Frazer has a qualifying match for the Iron Survivor Challenge tonight against Eddy Thorpe. We see that the tag teams from the roster are scattered throughout the crowd, watching the match from a distance.
Watching from a distance? Not for long! Toward the end of the match, all the teams converge at ringside, tensions boiling over into chaos. Poor Axiom ends up caught in the middle of this mess. A brawl breaks out, momentarily distracting Frazer in the ring, but he keeps his focus and stays in the match. While Frazer tries to help his partner at ringside, Eddy Thorpe drags him back into the ring and takes a cheap shot at Axiom (was that really necessary?). If Thorpe thought this move would help him win, he was sorely mistaken. Frazer regains control, counters Thorpe’s offense, and finishes him off with a Phoenix Splash. Nathan Frazer qualifies for Deadline!
As officials attempt to separate everyone, we shift to Chase U’s classroom, where Andre Chase delivers an inspiring speech about the founding of the university, the risks they’ve taken, and everything they’ve accomplished so far. He promises that tonight, he will become the number-one contender for the NXT title. We hope so, because otherwise, it’s the unemployment line for you!
Next, we get a video from Giulia, who talks about how life in the States is different from what she’s known but how much she’s enjoying the adventure. In Japan, she was used to giving it her all to win, blending creativity and chaos in the ring. She declares that once she wins the Iron Survivor Challenge, she’ll come for Roxanne Perez’s title. She tells the champion to be ready!
Backstage, Robert Stone and Stevie Turner are with a frustrated Kelani Jordan (understandably so, since her victory was stolen last week). She’s determined to prove she’s one of the best and requests a qualifying match for Deadline, challenging none other than Giulia. Oh wow, good luck with that, Kelani! But it’s sure to be an incredible match.
Speaking of qualifying matches, we have another one: Jaida Parker vs. Stephanie Vaquer, who’s just as motivated to get a shot at Roxanne Perez’s title. It seemed like we might have a clean contest (who could interfere in this match, after all?), but nope! Lola Vice (you remember her, the one who got her face smashed by Parker) shows up at ringside with a brick for no apparent reason. Parker is briefly distracted, leaving an opening for Vaquer to land a Superkick and a Back Breaker, securing her spot at Deadline. Stephanie Vaquer qualifies!
Jaida Parker is understandably furious, and it looks like this sets up another confrontation between her and Lola Vice. I thought their hardcore match had settled things, but I guess not. We’ll have to see what happens next week!
Backstage, Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox prepare for their match tonight, encouraging each other. Meanwhile, a post by Roxanne Perez is shown—she’s at the beach, taking a vacation while everyone else fights for a spot at Deadline. She jokes that all the women are fighting to see who gets the honor of losing to her. As she’s enjoying herself, Sol Ruca appears behind her with a surfboard and says she hopes to face Roxanne after Deadline.
Next, we have a match requested by Shawn Spears: Brooks Jensen takes on Tony D’Angelo, though the North American title isn’t on the line. It doesn’t matter; it’s still interesting! As expected, D’Angelo wins without too much trouble in a relatively short match. But this is where Shawn Spears’ plan unfolds. Post-match, Spears offers a handshake to D’Angelo, which he accepts, but Jensen attacks D’Angelo’s knee from behind. Spears and Jensen seem very pleased with their sneaky tactic!
Backstage again, Ashante Adonis and Karmen Petrovic are also getting ready for their match (I can’t believe they’re actually teaming up). Of course, they flirt awkwardly with lines like, “You’re looking good,” “Oh, so are you…” Please, WWE, let them lose already—I can’t handle this storyline anymore!
Still backstage, Lexis King reflects on his journey in NXT, admitting he didn’t have the best start but feels things are improving. He says he’s becoming a better version of himself. The camera pans out to reveal that he’s talking to Yoshiki Inamura from Pro Wrestling NOAH. King thanks him for listening and understanding. Inamura, ever chill, reassures him with a casual “No worries, man.” As King leaves, Josh Briggs shows up and asks Inamura what they were talking about. Inamura shrugs and says he has no idea, adding, “NXT is absolutely crazy.”

To illustrate these words, the camera cuts to the tag team division still brawling backstage before returning to Briggs and Inamura, with Inamura once again saying, “NXT is totally crazy.”
Next, we get a match I honestly could’ve done without: Brinley Reece and Dion Lennox team up to face Ashante Adonis and Karmen Petrovic. From the get-go, the “lovebirds” are irritating, constantly tagging each other every five seconds and unable to decide who starts the match. The match itself proceeds, and how does this nonsense end? Adonis distracts Reece, who slaps him, giving Petrovic an opening to land a Round Kick and cover for the three-count. We can all breathe a sigh of relief—it’s finally over.
Ridge Holland is interviewed about his match tonight and his thoughts on Andre Chase. Holland reflects on Chase’s earlier words about the university, stating that he’s destroyed everyone at Chase U. He sent Andre to the hospital in an ambulance and wants another round. After tonight, Thea Hai, Duke Hudson, Riley Osborne, and the rest won’t have their leader, and Chase U will never be the same again.
Back to the ring for another Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying match: Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair. Honestly, I expected Zaria to dominate this match more convincingly. It takes some of the momentum NXT has tried to build around her down a notch, but I guess they wanted the confrontation to last longer. In the end, Zaria still secures the victory, advancing to Deadline and staying in the title hunt.
We then check in at the medical room, where Tony D’Angelo is nursing his injured leg and furious at Shawn Spears and Brooks Jensen. Ava tries to check on him, but Tony insists on getting a title match this time. Ava stays calm, trying to de-escalate, but Tony won’t let it go: “I want that match!” Ava agrees, provided he gets cleared.
Meanwhile, Eddy Thorpe, still upset over his loss, shows up at Ava’s office to complain. He points out that Shawn Spears gets title opportunities by attacking the champion from behind, while he gets nothing. Ava tries to explain herself, but Thorpe storms off to sulk. What a drama queen!
Back in the ring, Fatal Influence makes their entrance to show off for the crowd. Jacy Jayne starts by claiming that NXT has the best women’s division, and the three of them always knew they belonged at the top. Fallon Henley chimes in, stating that to stay on top, you need titles—like the North American Championship she’s holding. She adds that everyone’s talking about Deadline, but no one mentions her win last week. Why not start an open challenge? Not tonight, though, since they’d have trouble finding anyone worthy...
Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend interrupt, with Legend stating she wants in. Then, Nikkita Lyons enters, pointing out that Legend already had her chance at Crown Jewel. Lyons declares she’ll take on Henley next week for the open challenge. The disagreement escalates into a classic brawl among the women.
Fallon Henley is left alone in the ring, watching officials separate everyone, when she’s blindsided by Tatum Paxley! Apparently, Paxley is also interested in the open challenge, as she poses with the title over a laid-out Henley.
Backstage, Jensen asks Spears if everything is going according to plan. The scheming Spears reassures him that this was exactly what he wanted. One of his lackeys arrives to tell him that he only needs to say the word if he wants a title opportunity.
We leave Spears to his plotting and check in with Adonis and Petrovic, who are thrilled with their victory and think they make a great team (ugh). Adonis asks if that teamwork extends outside the ring, but Petrovic doesn’t get a chance to answer—Nikkita Lyons passes by and tells Adonis to answer her messages. The mood immediately shifts as Petrovic realizes Adonis is a player. He denies sending messages to Lyons, but it’s too late. Petrovic, just ditch him—we’ll all be happier, especially you.
We’re then shown a video of Ethan Page, who talks about Deadline and what’s at stake: a title opportunity. He declares he will win the Iron Survivor Challenge, though he still has to qualify. “Only that,” he says—let’s see how he handles it!
And who’s his opponent? The answer comes right away as the tag team champions watch the video in their locker room. Axiom asserts that Page won’t qualify. Frazer, more pragmatic, says, “He was an NXT Champion; he’s got a real shot.” Axiom insists: “He won’t qualify because I’ll be his opponent.” Surprise! Axiom is also in the title hunt, which excites Frazer, who’s far more supportive of Axiom than Axiom has been of him. If Axiom qualifies, they’ll face each other at Deadline—adding a spicy twist to the competition!

Once again, we find Andre Chase*in his classroom, hyping himself up for his match by shouting that he will be the next NXT Champion. All his students are behind him, fully fired up to see him win tonight!
And now it’s time for the main event: the much-anticipated showdown between Andre Chase and Ridge Holland. To recap, the winner earns a title opportunity at Deadline, but the stakes are even higher for Chase—if he loses, he’ll have to abandon his university and his students. A much bigger loss, wouldn’t you agree?
The champion, Trick Williams, joins the commentary team for the occasion, and the match is underway! It’s intense from the start, with Holland clearly out to destroy the "little professor." At one point, he removes the protective mat at ringside, preparing to slam Chase onto the exposed floor. The camera cuts to Chase U watching the match, but Duke Hudson suddenly leaves his friends. Is he heading to the ring?
Yes, he is! After Holland sneaks in a low blow behind the referee’s back and attempts a pin, Hudson pulls the referee out of the ring and starts brawling with Holland. The fight spills to ringside, where Ridge puts Hudson through part of the stage setup. But Chase U isn’t done yet—Riley Osborne dives onto Holland at ringside, accidentally knocking out Thea Hail in the process (sorry, Thea!). Does this finally stop the monstrous Ridge? Nope. He throws Osborne over the top rope, sending him crashing onto the exposed floor at ringside.
Back in the ring, we see Andre Chase, furious and determined, pulling himself up. The tension between the professor and Holland is palpable. Fueled by the crowd’s support, Chase charges forward, hitting a flurry of moves and multiple pin attempts. But Ridge kicks out every time. Chase finally goes to the top rope for a Crossbody, but Holland catches him and plants him with a devastating DDT. He covers Chase, who stays down for the three-count. Ridge Holland wins.
And that’s it—I’m officially on the Ridge Holland hype train. The guy is a beast, taking down everyone in his path tonight, and I can’t wait to see him as champion! Holland revels in his victory, leaving the ring with a smile as Chase realizes the full weight of his loss. Looking at his devastated students, Chase understands that he hasn’t just lost a title opportunity—this is the end of Chase U for him.
Wow, what an emotional ending! What will become of Andre Chase now?

It was Laure with the recap of NXT!
