Hello everyone, it's Laure live from Luz' for the recap of Crown Jewel on November 2, 2024 !

The Saudi Arabia show kicked off strong with the match between The Bloodline and Roman Reigns, accompanied by the Usos. However, the atmosphere among the Usos isn’t quite smooth yet, as little Jey is still having a bit of trouble tagging in his cousin Roman. After all, they didn’t come out together, which shows there’s still a bit of distance, despite their alliance tonight!
But will the OTC manage to win despite this? Not really, because Jacob Fatu takes out the Usos, and Reigns gets hit with a Samoan Spike from Sikoa before being pinned and failing to lift his shoulders during the count. Seriously, Roman?
Anyway, the victory isn’t enough for Sikoa because he wants to literally break them: Jey Uso ends up in the corner with a chair around his neck, and The Bloodline is ready to destroy him when Sami Zayn enters. He walks confidently to the ring, positioning himself between Jey and Sikoa. Sikoa opens his arms, ready to accept him, and there’s a long moment where it’s unclear what Zayn will do. He can’t possibly join The Bloodline, can he?
Zayn makes his choice with actions: an Exploder Suplex on Sikoa. A brawl ensues between The Bloodline and the Reigns/Usos/Zayn alliance. Solo is quickly left alone in the ring, with Reigns, Jey, Jimmy, and Sami each in their corner. Reigns charges for a Superman Punch, Zayn for a Helluva Kick, but Sikoa dodges it, and The OTC ends up eating Sami’s boot in the face.
The Bloodline flees towards the entrance ramp, mocking them as they go. Zayn is left not knowing where to stand and gets into a confrontation with Jimmy. But seriously, just drop his jacket already, right? It’s like he did it on purpose! Anyway, Zayn will leave the ring alone, leaving Reigns and the Usos behind.
Next up, the 4-Way Tag-Team match for the tag titles. A lot of anticipation on my end, but ultimately the result was quite disappointing. Special mention to Chelsea Green and Piper Niven, who always make me laugh, but it’s Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill who will retain, finishing the match with a Doomsday Device on Niven, who won’t recover from it.
The third match was between Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins. Given how intense their rivalry has been lately, of course, they’re going to fight before the bell even rings, circling each other near the entrance ramp. Once the match starts, it quickly escalates with finishers (what? already?), but don’t worry, it’s not over yet!

Bronson Reed was really hard for Rollins to put down; he had to hit every possible Stomp: the classic, one on the steel steps, and another from the corner. All of that was needed to finally knock Reed out! Well, at least just long enough for Rollins to get a three-count, because as soon as Rollins left the ring, Reed got back up and stared him down. And you could see that Rollins couldn’t believe Reed was that resilient, and it’s clear this isn’t something he’s used to seeing!
Next came the first champion vs. champion match, and in this case, it was champion vs. championess! Liv Morgan and Nia Jax faced off for the Crown Jewel title. Honestly, I won’t lie, I thought Morgan was going to get completely crushed, but you know what? I was wrong—she fought back really well.
But, honestly, who cares, because Tiffany Stratton came out to cash-in. She made an initial attempt but Jax grabbed her like, ‘Cousin, get out of here.’ Stratton stepped back, but halfway down the entrance ramp, she changed her mind. She turned back, grabbed the referee, and prepared to cash-in, but Raquel Rodriguez snatched her briefcase to stop her. Dominik Mysterio joined them, and while they were distracting Stratton, Jax came in and took them all out with a big smash into the barricade. That put Tiffany out of the game.
Dominik and Raquel helped Liv win by distracting the referee and attacking Jax from behind. Morgan would finish with her Oblivion and a three-count, becoming the official Crown Jewel champion. Triple H even came down to congratulate her personally—now that’s classy!
Next up, a match I think many were anticipating: Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens. Owens entered first and wasn’t in the mood for any fun. I guess that’s what happens when you’re about to bury your former buddy. And when Randy Orton did his thing on the turnbuckle (you know, arms spread!), Owens attacked him with a chair.
From there, it all went crazy because they didn’t stop fighting, so the match never officially started. Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce tried to take control, but it was useless! It ended in the crowd: Owens threw Orton onto some tables, climbed up, and hit an Elbow Drop. That move calmed both of them down, and their confrontation ended there.
The second-to-last match saw LA Knight defending his US Championship in a Triple Threat against Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. Probably one of the best matches of the night (I mean, with Hayes in the mix, how could it not work?), and it ended with a double BFT. Hayes had Andrade set up for a Facebuster, and Knight followed up with a pin to retain his title.
Finally, we get to the main event: Gunther vs. Cody Rhodes, champion vs. champion! Gunther tried several times to apply his sleeper hold, but Rhodes hit his finisher twice, and Gunther didn’t give in. The match was fairly long, and it ended with yet another sleeper attempt that Rhodes countered into a victorious pin.
I’ll admit, I would’ve liked Gunther to win to establish him even more as a dominant champion, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be tonight! Gunther recognized the power of his opponent by shaking his hand (what a classy guy!).
Triple H came down to congratulate Rhodes, who celebrated his win, with Liv Morgan crashing the party (now that she has her shiny new, though rather ugly, belt!).

That's it for Laure's recap of Crown Jewel 2024!
