Hey everyone, it’s Laure live from Luz’ with the recap of Collision on November 16, 2024 !

The show kicked off with the match between Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron, and honestly, great choice—it was super entertaining! Both wrestlers were fun to watch, and I really enjoyed their interactions. Cameron tried to cheat by using the ropes during a pin, but it didn’t work. No big deal, though—she’s hilarious, so we’ll forgive her. Shirakawa secured the win with her Glamorous Driver for the three-count. It was such a fun moment that Cameron left the ramp doing Shirakawa’s signature dance—honestly, very cool!
Before moving to the next match, we see Jack Perry arriving in his creepy truck, which ties into what’s coming up: Daniel Garcia vs. Johnny TV, who was accompanied by the MXM Collection. For this bout, Daddy Magic, Garcia’s buddy, joined the commentary team.
MXM Collection got involved, helping Johnny TV cheat behind the referee’s back, which left Garcia struggling for a bit. While he was getting beaten up at ringside, Jack Perry suddenly emerged from the crowd to kidnap Daddy Magic. Naturally, Garcia didn’t notice this. Back in the ring, Garcia made a comeback, and when MXM Collection tried to interfere again, he slammed them into the steel post outside, shutting them down for good. He then locked Johnny in a *Cobra Clutch* submission, forcing him to tap out—victory for Garcia.
But hold up—Garcia quickly realized his friend Daddy Magic was missing. Confused, he looked around until the giant screen showed Jack Perry beating up Daddy Magic backstage. Without hesitation, Garcia rushed to the scene. In the parking lot, Perry chained Daddy Magic to the back of his truck (oh boy, this is not going to end well...), and just as Perry was about to drive off, Garcia arrived to stop him. Garcia freed his friend before continuing to attack the TNT Champion. Daddy Magic turned to the cameraman to cut the broadcast.
Oookay, moving on! We were then treated to a video from Lio Rush, who declared that it’s his time. He’s here to win titles, and he’s on the path to doing just that!
Back to the Perry/Garcia feud, still in the parking lot—this time, the TNT Champion is tied up on the hood of the truck. Daddy Magic and Garcia drive off to who-knows-where with Perry still stuck on the hood. Safe to say he’s not enjoying the ride!
Next, Shelton Benjamin, accompanied by MVP, faced off against Komander, who caught the Hurt Syndicate’s attention during Rampage. Komander struggled quite a bit—he managed to outpace Benjamin a few times with some cool moves, but Benjamin always regained control. When Komander attempted a Shooting Star Press from the ropes, Benjamin dodged and followed up with a German Suplex, Running Knee, and Kick. He finished it off with a Powerslam to secure the victory.
After the match, MVP joined Benjamin in the ring, pointing at the downed Komander and signaling for Benjamin to unmask him (no, you don’t do that!). Benjamin started to comply, but Alex Abrahantes, Komander’s ally, rushed in to stop him. I say “tried” because MVP took him out quickly, and the Hurt Syndicate left the ring triumphant.
In an interview, we heard from Kris Statlander, who was asked about her expectations for her match at Full Gear against Mercedes Moné. Statlander said she expects everything and nothing at the same time—she knows Moné is one of the best, incredibly dangerous, and willing to do whatever it takes. Regardless, Statlander is confident that at *Full Gear*, she’ll be the last one standing as the new TBS Champion.

Hikaru Shida, who has been on a roll lately, went to see Statlander to wish her good luck at Full Gear. She asked if once Statlander becomes champion, she could be the first to face her for the title. Statlander agreed but mentioned that she's always looking for a challenge, so why not face each other at Dynamite first? Shida was up for it, so the match is set!
Next, we get an interview with The Acclaimed. They reassure us about Billy Gunn’s presence tonight and are pumped up because they’re just one match away from the tag titles, and they fully intend to become two-time tag team champions. They are joined by the Hurt Syndicate, who wish them good luck, and MVP has a special word for Max Caster, offering him some advice. You see what that shady guy is trying to do? Nope, not a fan!
Now it’s time for the match between Powerhouse Hobbs and Bronson, who is accompanied by his two Iron Savages teammates. Let’s just say that the little group put on a show during their entrance, but in the end, they got demolished. Hobbs picked up the victory with an Argentine Back Breaker that made Bronson tap out.
In an interview, we hear from Undisputed Kingdom with Roderick Strong addressing MJF: “MAX!” he shouts. “You’ve got just seven days before we meet face to face in the ring.” MJF may think he’s the best, but he forgets that Strong is a legend, the missile of the Back Breaker, and at Full Gear, he’s going to show MJF who’s really the better man.
And here come Private Party, heading straight to their little VIP square for the match that will determine the final challengers for the Full Gear tag titles. Who will it be between the Faccion Ingobernable and The Acclaimed? I’m personally rooting for Rush and Mortos!
What’s interesting to note is a little move from Max Caster: he forces the tag with his partner, which surprises Anthony Bowens. It’s clear that MVP’s words are starting to have an effect on their team. Don’t worry though, it doesn’t stop them from communicating well throughout the match and staying united. On the Faccion Ingobernable side, they cheat all over the place—Rush even pulls out a cable to choke Caster with. Unfortunately for him, Rush ends up choking out himself, and Caster reverses it, whipping him with the cable.
Despite all these tricks that could’ve cost them dearly, Caster and Bowens stay focused and hit some solid sequences, including a Side Slam followed by an Elbow Drop from the top rope to secure the victory. The Acclaimed will go on to Full Gear!
We then move on to some interviews, starting with Mina Shirakawa, who’s happy to be back, proud of her win, and super excited for her friend Mariah May’s match later. After that, we hear from the Conglomeration, who comment on the upcoming match between Chris Jericho and Tomohiro Ishii for the Ring of Honor title. Ishii is all poker face, but Mark Briscoe kindly translates for us. Basically, Jericho better watch out because Ishii is going to teach him a lesson, and the Conglomeration is ready to bring the title into their faction.
Thought it was over? Nope! We have one more interview, this time with FTR about their future. Cash Wheeler says they’re not quite sure where they stand: they lost the tag titles some time ago and have had several chances to reclaim them, but it just doesn’t seem like their moment right now. Dax Harwood agrees, saying that it’s not their moment, but it’s the moment for their buddies, The Outrunners, who have an opportunity at the Full Gear titles. We’ll see next Saturday if it’s going to pay off!
And now, onto the main event, and what a crazy main event, my friends! The no-disqualification match for the AEW Women’s Championship between Anna Jay and Mariah May. It was insane, no exaggeration—both of them put on an amazing show! There were tables broken, chair shots, chokes with barbed wire, you name it—total carnage.

At one point, Mariah May even brings out a barricade and starts setting it up on chairs in the ring. Jay stops her with a Back Breaker before finishing setting up the barricade. So, we think, "Okay, the champion’s about to eat that damn barrier," but no, they continue to beat each other up and we’re like, “Who’s gonna take the big hit?!". Well, both of them! Technically, it’s Mariah May because she’s the one who takes Jay’s Superplex from the top rope onto the barricade, but in the end, both of them land on it, and it hurts either way!
The match ends with Mariah May spraying Jay in the face with a can of spray, freeing herself from a tight submission, and then hitting a Storm Zero onto a chair. Jay doesn’t get up when May covers her for the win. Our champion retains her title, and we finally see the reunion between Shirakawa and May. It’s announced that at Full Gear, there will be a champagne celebration. Hmm, could this be the perfect spot for a certain return? You know, a girl whose name starts with "Toni" and ends with "Storm"? No? Am I alone here?
Anyway, the show isn’t over yet: we see Marina Shafir and Jon Moxley outside the arena, and the champion has something to say. He paints a pretty unflattering picture of Cassidy: “The guy plays the sad friend, but he didn’t even go to see his bro Chuck Taylor in the hospital, and you know why? Because he doesn’t care!” For Moxley, Cassidy is a cold-hearted snake who lies. He’s got ice in his veins, unlike Moxley—he feels things. He feels all the people who believe in AEW. At Full Gear, Cassidy will have a chance to take his spot, but Moxley plans to plant his flag so deep that no one will ever be able to remove it.
And AEW isn’t done building hype for Full Gear yet, as they air a recap video of the various rivalries that will come to a head (or not) next week, all set to Guns N’ Roses to make it all super epic.
No, you definitely can’t say they’re not selling their PLE well!

It was Laure with the recap of Collision!
