Dwayne Johnson made his WWF (now WWE) debut in 1996 as Rocky Maivia , an unlikely combination of his father and grandfather. While the name didn't catch on, he quickly changed tactics. Dropping the "Rocky" name and transforming himself into The Rock , he won fans' hearts with his legendary one-liners and Greek-god poses. His rallying cry, "If you smell what The Rock is cooking!", has become an iconic phrase, and people still wonder what he's cooking.
