The Story of Wrestling and WWE

Wrestling is like a soap opera, but with muscles, shiny costumes, and guys who fly through the air. Imagine superheroes in tights (or villains in briefs, take your pick) fighting in a ring, but instead of saving the planet, they're engaged in epic rivalries over a belt they rarely wear around their waist.

So wrestling is sport, comedy, drama... and sometimes a guy coming at you from the top rope.

Unlike boxing or MMA, here, everything is scripted: the punches fly, but the goal is mainly to not hurt (well... in theory). But make no mistake, it takes years of training to master the art of crashing like a pancake after a powerbomb without ending up in compote. Wrestling is the sporting equivalent of an action movie: you know that the explosions are planned, but it's still super impressive!

Wrestlers are characters worthy of science fiction films: muscular heroes (the " faces "), fearsome villains (the " heels ") and sometimes, totally crazy surprises (yes, we're talking about you, The Undertaker, who has been resurrected at least ten times). And all this, for glory, honor... and above all, a three-way pinfall.

But where does all this spectacle come from? Enter the history of WWE, the federation that transformed wrestling into a global phenomenon. Before becoming World Wrestling Entertainment , it was called Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC) and was founded in 1953 by Jess McMahon and Toots Mondt. But it was truly under the leadership of Vincent K. McMahon (son of Vince McMahon Sr.) in the 1980s that WWE really took off.

Vincent K. McMahon saw things in a big way: he took wrestling, which was already very popular, and turned it into a muscular soap opera. He added storylines, characters more eccentric than each other, and highly produced television shows. Thanks to legendary stars like Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and The Ultimate Warrior, WWE conquered America... and the world.

In the 1980s, WWE (then called the WWF) also popularized pay-per-views, mega-spectacle events like WrestleMania, where thousands of fans gather to watch wrestlers waltz into the ring.

Wrestling is more than just guys in tights fighting each other: it's an epic saga with twists, turns, and rivalries that will keep you on the edge of your seat. As for WWE, it's THE federation that made wrestling a global spectacle. Whether you're a fan of spectacular moves or storylines worthy of the greatest drama series, you've come to the right place to enjoy everything wrestling has to offer.

So, make yourself comfortable, it's show time!
